This application functions exclusively in conjunction with a valid user account for Diverse Computing’s eAgent 2.0 platform. Prior registration with eAgent 2.0 is a prerequisite before utilizing the scanning features. Once registered, the app leverages the device’s camera to scan the 2D barcode—specifically PDF417—found on most U.S. driver’s licenses, as well as the 1D VIN barcode, commonly Code39, on many vehicles. The scanned data is automatically transmitted as a DL: SmartMessage® query and the results are displayed within the eAgent 2.0 Inbox.

Scanning of 2D PDF417 barcodes present on U.S. driver’s licenses
Scanning of 1D VIN barcodes, such as Code39, on vehicles
Operation with or without flash illumination
Options to auto-submit following scan or review data prior to submission
Notification sounds upon submission or silent operation mode
Automatic display of SmartMessage® query results within eAgent 2.0 Inbox

Installation and setup procedures are as follows:

Install and launch the application.
Grant necessary permissions for camera and phone functionalities.
Select “Quit” to exit the app temporarily.
Access eAgent 2.0 through your mobile browser and log into your account. In case of any difficulties, consult your agency supervisor.
Upon login, locate and tap the barcode icon situated at the upper right corner of the navigation bar to launch the Drivers License Scanner interface.
A few settings, including Base URL and System Code, are preconfigured automatically.
Tap the “Register” button displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The Register Device screen will appear with your username auto-filled; enter your password and confirm by tapping “Register Device.”
Following successful registration, you will be enabled to utilize the app’s barcode scanning capabilities for driver’s licenses and vehicle VINs.
